112 Police Request allows a Police Authority or Agency to quickly manage officers’ requirements for data from telephone companies, financial institutions, utilities and other corporate bodies.

An officer completes an application via the Force intranet, providing a simple to use front-end that validates their input and ensures completeness. Senior officers can authorise applications via the intranet for swift processing.

112 Police Request then formats the warrant or notice and dispatches it to the relevant company automatically. When the data is received from the company, a forensically sound copy is kept and the information is loaded into a data base for querying and intelligence analysis. The data is made available to the requesting officer over the intranet.

This all means that a request to a telco for a telephone subscriber check can be completed, authorised and dispatched back to the officer within ten minutes.
